Trying figure out what to start out with my tank. it has been running for 2 months and cannot decide what coral and fish to go with. Any suggestions would be appreciated. The tank is a 75-85 gallon bow front with fish and live rock in it right now

It is a dry heat, yeah right !

    Welcome to 3reef.

Are you looking to do a mixed reef with some stony corals and soft corals?

What fish and corals do you currently have?

Type of lighting and filtration as well?

    :)

I have a refugium no corals 4 damsels, bar gobie, sand sifting gobie, and a chocolate chip star fish. The lighting is a 48" coralife with 2 10,000k and 2 actinic it also has the moonlight led built in but the wires are not connected anymore

how much live rock and sand!

IMO, ya have a problem, 4 damsels that have been established probably aren't going to play nice with any new fish! I'd consider taking them back to the LFS!

As far as stocking recommendations, it's really up to your eye and what you like! Those lights are gonna limit ya to softies, LPS, and maybe a lowlight SPS!

i'd go windowshopping at liveaquaria and look for some fish that you like the looks of and read up on them! Then put together a wish list and post it here so the pro's can make sure it will work in your tank, or at least have a chance of it!

    Good luck!

I think I have about 80 pounds of sand and probably around the same on live rock I plan on building a led light just saving up for all the parts to it. Thanks for all the feed back I will start on a list and go from there

I would look at some Zoas, Acans, Duncans, Candy cane, Xenia, Kenya tree, Lobos or the like to start with. As far as fish, I agree with Cosmo. Get rid of the Damsels then look at a royal Gramma, firefish, clownfish, Coral beauty or cardinalfish

Damsels are the devil. I have a fiji blue damsel I cant catch in my 150. He even tried to go after my purple tang until a quick whip of the tail settled it.
