Exactly. Brittle and some serpent stars tend to be reclusive, hiding in the rocks with one or two arms protruding, waiting for a morsel of food.
Exact id is not important; ALL serpent and brittle stars, along with most other CuC members, will scavenge, but should also be target-fed...
IMOPE, like most anything else we put into our tanks, brittle stars are safe as long as they're well-fed. Hungry animals kill. Period....

Personally, I wouldn't risk it unless you have a large tank (75g+). 2 established pairs in close proximity is a recipe for disaster.
