    T-5' or MH's. VHO and PC's are old technology and the reflectors aren't as efficient as T-5's and MH's. If you go T-5 use the 48" TEK fixture...

    4 T-5's will cover that area better than one MH. Since the tank is only 12" wide and 36" long you would need two MH's. I'd buy the 36" TEK fixture...

    I wouldn't recommend PC's. Go with T-5's/individual reflectors or Metal Halides.

    I put the carbon on the bottom and the phosphate on the top. The low flow doesn't allow them to mix.

    I run ROWA carbon in a reactor and clean the glass before I take pictures. Also having a Canon 5D digital camera helps along with a tripod.
