Yikes, i have a clown, damsel and a tiny yellow tang in a 90 gallon...that is one too many fish for me already!!!
That's what I would do based on your limited time available.
definitely check the temperature
IMO I'd stay away from hermits, or actually, any crabs. My tank has done so much better with just snails.
My LFS sells ro/di at .50 cents a gallon. NO way you can't afford $5 a month for water changes...
That is why I am staying with my 90 gallon. 1 gallon top off a day, no problem. 4-5 gallons a day, big problem.
AN arrow crab works great. They do grow like crazy and once they are done with the worms you better rehome him if you have any corals.
I use eggcrate...got tired of always cleaning the glass tops
I have moved established tanks of 55 gallons or more a couple of times...this last time I didn't move the sand, by far the best thing I have ever...
Upon my last tank upgrade i ditched all the crabs from the tank. Amazing snail growth and a lot more interesting critters survive when those crabs...
Yeah, one tank of mine was so infested i had to get a tuxedo urchin to keep it in check...
if you have a lot of the buggers I'd vote for a half dozen or so pep shrimps...work like magic. when they are done, bring them to your LFS for...
Odd, i see them for sale at all my LFS's all the time, at pretty hefty prices too...odd you can't rehome them.
Even more reason for our hobby to be serious
can you place some bare rock next to them and let them colonize that piece? Then pull the piece and bring it to your LFS.
Cardinals school nicely...
5 more Anthias should fill the tank nicely.
yeah, i'd vote for the pepps. When they eradicate your problem, return them to your LFS for a credit.
You may want to consider no sand/substrate. I run a sandless set up in my DT. Would never go back to sand substrate.
I have a 90 gal and was able to fit a 30 gal underneath. I really appreciate the extra volume it provides.
