    Tap water is a no no. It's going to take some time to get that to cycle out. I would kill your lights for a few days, and keep doing water changes....

    Help me tweak my overflow/sump

    Put the foam tube over the pipe in your overflow box. It will slow the box down a little bit and help with the noise. Also you don't need the ball...

    Overflow box not flowing (now flowing)
