There is a very nice coral store called Reef Chief in Virginia Beach / Suffolk that is WAY closer than jersey to you.
Nice tank, I've got a 125 and hope it will eventually look that good
Anything is better than nothing. I normally get a fairly dark greenish brown skimmate and it takes almost a week to fill up the cup on my octopus...
Also keep in mind while testing that it can take a long time before the tank stabilizes at a certain flow rate. I've got a creative version of a...
I run a 55 under my 125 as my sump / fuge and it works great. I dont know if I would have the extra space needed for the extra water when I cut out...
Its a long tentacle anemone.
That is soo cool. I've considered a number of times breaking down my reef or at the very least setting it up as a cuttle fish species tank.
When I get new snails they sometimes get flipped over for the first few days. After that I normally only have to flip a snail once a week or so....

He has another tank that has zero nitrates so I'm assuming his test kit is ok but you know what assume means. I'd still get the water checked...
I spot feed by taking a piece of airline tubing and attatching it to a wooden dowel. I've got a couple extra feet of tubing coming off the end I hold...
Those bulbs do put out a little bit of heat but no where near what an incandescant (sp) bulb puts out. I use one on my fuge and it is working great...

Thats why I never got a 6 line wrass. They are supposed to be as good at catching pods as mandarins are and my mandarin is definitely a cooler fish.
I vote with Screwtape. I'd probabyl do a larger sump with extra liverock in it rather than a fuge. The extra wigle room for top offs is really handy.
