I bought there sand and love it so I wouldnt worry too much... I would just get 30lbs so you have more options for your scape and the extra pieces...

how deep is your sand bed? Some species of fish and inverts require a deeper sand bed and also it improves biological filtration but its not...
A 1g is too small for any fish
First your way overstocked, get rid of the guppies. If you want algae eaters then get Amano Shrimp, they wont reproduce and you could have 3 in that...

Ya I would only add the mandarin if my fuge can keep up with the wrasse, if he is eating all the pods then I wont get it.
