from my understanding dimming lengthens the life of LEDs because it keeps the heat on them down and it is better to underpower than to have at...
i have a single female maldives lyretail anthias in my 55 and shes doing great...i wouldnt recommend more than 1 in a tank that size though ps...
silicone doesnt bond with already dried silicone if you did know that!
i dont believe there would be an issue with removing the rim completely on a tank that small...normally id worry about the weight of the skimmer...
i read that the color red is to cause plants to bud and flower...not to cause growth
you can cut it into half or quarters, just make sure to get some of the mouth on each piece but i usually just wait for them to split or start...
over a 20 gallon you could probably get away with 12 or 18 LEDs
look up lightning maroon :) they look really cool but i think they're expensive ish

you can try reefwerks...they're a step above DIY basically you buy the kit and they assemble it and send it to you....i paid $505 for a 36 LED kit...

if its in high flow they tend to shrink up like this maybe try moving it to slightly less flow and see how it does
over a year and yes he was well fed, if anything i could feed less sparingly

so just now i just checked on my tank as i do fairly often through out the day and i notice my emerald crab laying on his back on the sand bed...so...
it looks like feather caluerpa, just pull it by hand its pretty easy to get rid of....great for a fuge though
