yea should be ok and the biocubes are pretty efficient but i know some people do mod them for better skimmers etc
5 fish isnt recommended for a beginner....is it impossible no but it takes more work and a higher biological filter+mechanical filtration depending...
or keep them and trade for frags or something :D lol

the lower the sg the lower the odss pf problems with parasites although this isnt hyper salinity it may be somewhat of a deterant someone else chime...
as far as freshwater im not sure of a snail predator but i do know puffers and triggers eat snails and im sure there are some kind of freshwater fish...

4 250w mhs is enough to bleach all but the most light hungry corals on a 4' tank unless it is really deep.....I think 2 should be fine if you place...

yes those are barnacles and no they should be a problem they're just filter feeders
