Reef Angel is at it again with an exciting new PAR expansion module. This module uses a quantum sensor that measures PAR in PPF units in wavelengths of 400 to 700 nanometers. Coupled with the open source Reef Angel controller, you could really have fun with this PAR module. Of course you use it to tune up your LED lamp. And that is really handy. But it could get really interesting if you adjusted your pumps based on the PAR reading. Or food timers. It goes on and on. Now in pre-order for $250. Specs and more below.

The PAR expansion module is an expansion module to measure PAR readings in your tank.

Don't settle with flux sensors that measure the entire range of visible light.
This PAR expansion module uses state-of-the-art quantum sensor that is capable of measuring PAR in PPF units (μmol m-2 s-1) in the correct wavelength of 400 to 700 nanometers (nm), which is used for photosynthesis in your tank.

Now, you can set the PAR expansion module and dial in your LED...

CPR's in-tank refugiums have evolved for 2014. The new CITR2 and CITR PRO feature slide slots for better circulation, while the CITR PRO also has a sliding bracket that replaces the suction cups and a black back panel. Also hitting the stores now is the CPR Smart Feeder, another classic "Why didn't I think of that?" CPR product that is an innovative way to feed your less aggressive fish. Check out the PDFs attached for more information.

The third generation of EcoTech Marine's Radio LED aquarium lights predictably up the ante with the latest LED technology. New Oslon blue LEDs, along with UV and Indigo increase output while not exceeding the maximum wattage of previous generations. The new LED clusters contain 6 more LEDs with only a 10w increase in power consumption. The Radion's exterior has evolved with uni-body construction and backlit tactile buttons. Most impressive is XR30WG3's increase in PAR. The new PRO model exceeds 1025 (perhaps even 1125) PAR at 12" depth. That is at least a 30% increase over the 1st generation model. Pre-orders start now. Shipping later this month.

Current Radion owners will eventually have the option to upgrade to the new clusters.

Take a little SWC Xtreme and a little ConeS and you start to have the new Deepwater Aquatics HOB skimmer. The Deepwater Aquatics goes further than the ConeS with a more slanted collection cup for improved efficiency. Interestingly the return pipe has a bit of a durso type fitting on it, perhaps to reduce bubbles in the tank. With a $200 price point, 11 watt Shark pump and advanced skimmer technology, the Deepwater Aquatics skimmer should be a big hit. Now in pre-order and arriving next month.
