Re-painted the tank trim to be black instead of wood-grain. Used Krylon Fusion, it worked well with several coats. Did not do the tip-top so that there would be no chance of getting paint/paint chips in the tank

IMG 2634 the hood all stained. A set of lights I got for CHEAP. Two working 175W metal halides! Bonus! Now the hood design is being altered to include a vertical extension to house the halides. I need to choose a reflector system still.
This housing has already been dissasembled and t The aquascaping from the front (the hood is off obviously). I will be filling it with water this week I hope! The spots where the nail hole filler was applied didnt take stain very well (not cool, thanks a lot paint lady at HomeDepot!) but it just looks bad here because of the flash. It doenst look as bad in normal light and the doors will cover mo The tank with the lights on for the first time!
