Unless you are going with a deep sand bed, it won't matter much filtration wise.
Sand is really up to you, I would make sure you like the look of it above most things. If you are worried about metal you can always filter it out...
We tried to carry that same Bahamas aragonite but had metal issues, when you ran a magnet through it you would come up with little bits of metal.
