Hello! Been a member here for a few years but got out of the hobby several years ago and trying to catch up on the new technology. I've always had...
Update- I couldn't find the Tetra brand freeze dried Krill, but I did find some other brand, and added some small snails. As soon as I dropped a...
Thanks a bunch for all the ideas. I've tried the shrimp. but not the freeze dried krill, or snails.
This may not be a serious emergency, but to me it's becoming one and I'd appreciate any help. Having kept only reef tanks for the past few years, I...
I had the same issue with my 72 bowfront. Maybe you could use some of my ideas scaled down a bit. Far left is an acrylic sump. In the left side of...
ATO's are for lazy people who like floods! LOL, just kidding but I had a bad experience and don't use one anymore. I simply have the tube from the...
Ditch the carbon altogether. I switched over to Magnavore Pura Complete in my reactor a few months ago, and my water parameters have never been...
Does the tank have a top brace? If not, I'd sure add that to "must do" list. I was thinking about the "bow" and wondered. Why would anyone build a...
I've added freshly mixed saltwater 10 minutes after mixing it (in small quantities. Just stir it real good until it looks clear. No worries there....
Love the Atlantic Chahuafish, but isn't that tank going to be a little small for him?
Actually, considering the degradation of our natural reefs, many corals are probably safer, happier, and healthier in a well kept aquarium. I hate...
I've had two float valves fail to seal resulting in a flood. I'll never use them again. They may work great for a while, but it only takes one time...
Agreed. I've done it with no cycle at all. Transfer all of the live rock and even the old water to the new tank. Ad "seasoned" fresh salwater with...
I've always used brush on paint on the backs, etc. The key is a good brush, and you won't get many brush strokes. Let the first coat dry and put on...
Go to Lowes, and get the rustoleum brush on oil based paint. I wouldn't use the fusion spray, or any other spray for that matter. It doesn't matter...
Then I'll post some pics I've taken of wild tangs in the Atlantic. We'll both get in trouble.
It will always float around a little, but once it starts growing it'll be from top to bottom. I've read about the "tumbling" too, but I've never...
Thats even a better idea than painting. As far as paint adhering to glass, clean the glass, scuff lightly with 600 wet sandpaper, and paint with oil...
In my opinion glass would be better because acrylic is next to impossible to bond to glass. You just paint one side of the glass, problem solved....
If it were me, I'd consider what you have more than enough bio-load for a 55 reef. Adding more fish isn't going to help anything.
