Do you mean die from it If so thats false. I have had many, infact most of my fish that got it have beat it and lived long healthy lives.

I think you dont want ammonia over 5.0 ppm. That will stall the cycle. Dr Tim had a thread about it. Check in his forum.
Also copper itself can be bad for the fish. You have to be care full with it, and like vinny said dont treat if your not even sure they are sick or...

I second RODS. It's a quality food. A little expensive, especially if you have to get it on line. But everything in my tank loves it.
