it does work well. mine is from Buckeye field supply. it did not come with an adapter but my LFS caried them.
i have just always heard of older bulbs causing algae growth and wondered if the new bulbs might have had the same effect. then the algae in your DT...
The problem could be your choice of bulbs. the four bulbs you have listed are more supplemental. imo you need full spectrum bulbs like aqua blue...
i would definitely throw it out and do some water changes to get rid of the ammonia.
let them be and they will work it out. relationships go that way sometimes. in my own experiences, she usually lets me back in the house eventually....
i thought that BRS 2 part recipe 2 did lower PH and recipe 1 raised PH. if you have recipe 2, you should be able to increase DKH without raising PH.

i am in an apartment and just hook it to the faucet with an adapter when i need water. it won't leave any trace when you leave. it's pretty simple.
AC is a must in SA. it keeps the temp in my tank fairly constant.

at one time, they definitely played a little too roughly but they have mellowed in their old age.

The flow is high in most parts of the tank but slower where the anemone is. however, i would expect it to move if it didn't like the flow. it has not...
