    Putting something that you dont know about from the ocean into the tank this includes crabs, snails oh heck anything directly from the ocean that you are not positive about!

    Here's one from a beginner.

    Buying a long tentacle anemone for a 20g tank and then realizing they get friggin huge! Not much room left for corals in the future. Bummer.

    LoL! Nope not unless in a few months you think it has settled and won't roam and sting your corals on the way.

    1. Overfeeding
    2. Failure to test the water quality frequently enough.
    3. Failure to change out light bulbs on regular basis.
    4. Incompatible stocking.
    5. Overstocking.
    6. Impatience.
    7. Impulse buying.
    8. Insufficient research in general.
    9. Not recognizing importance of light (too much, too little).
    10. Not recognizing importance of flow (too much, too little).
    11. Deep sand beds in the main tank (Bogie)
    12. Not doing maintenance on hardware, I.E. not servicing your pumps and skimmers or changing out filtration pads, etc. (Iraf)
    13. Improper diet (BluePhish)
    14. No quarantine. (BluePhish)
    15. Using windex on glass. (BluePhish)
    16. Using supplements without testing. (BluePhish)
    17. Using lid on tank. (fishpoop)
    18. Not asking the wife before you spend the money on a new setup....(BillyD)

    20. Not purchasing a proper Ro/Di unit before purchasing corals/fish. (WildReef)
