So we are at 10 months now and my one and only fish passed on:(. went to the LFS in town for info. suggested a LS change, this done the tank looks better than ever took just a few days to stabilize and for the first time since we have had the tank I have zero readings on all the bad stuff. PH good, NH3 0, NO2 0, NO3 0, Ca at 330, water clear, Added a cleaner shrip and 3 hermits, a couple of soft corals. I think it may be time to add a LF, for decoration.

I could never get the no3 down and we were thinking that the sand had lost its ability to help out. Not sure if its true but it has seemed to work, remember I only have 10 lbs to replace in the 8gal nano. I kept about 80% of the water and did a couple of water changes at about a gal each time.

Remember that the water doesnt cycle, its the Lr and LS that does. I've had the same sand for over 10 yrs and never had to change it out. Luna

Sorry about your fish. I did notice your calcium is a bit low. should be 450 to 500 ppm. This could cause some pH issues which in turn could harm your aquarium inhabitants. Just a thought to help you out a bit...

Thats for a reef tank, if he has fish only, he doesnt need the Cal that high. Luna
