That looks great so far though will. What are you going to do for lighting, just PC's or are you going to do T5's?

the lighting i really hadn't put much thought into. could i get away with a double 4' fluorescent fixture from home depot for the time being? the guy at the big lfs said it would be ok . . . i cant believe i diddnt ask that question here before i started building :-/

i had a great day tank wise, i cut the canopy down about 5", skinned the front of the stand, made 3 cabinet doors, and finally got the front 8" of the canopy to hinge back on itself over 2 doors. i was going to get a few pictures but no one was around the shop to help me get it setup.

heres what i got done this weekend, still not 100% sure on what i can squeeze in there for lighting. the doors are not hung but the top hinges just the way i wanted them to be. all the hard stuff is done, now all i gotta do is a bunch of sanding, painting, siliconing, and sealing and it'll be ready to go into the house.

i dont do any work while the tank is in place, i just mock it up to take pictures of the progress.

mic5486, the only reason i did the canopy like that is i have an acrylic tank with only 2 openings in the top to access the tank that are 22" x 7". if i had a glass tank with a totally open top all i would do is a couple hinged doors across the face of the canopy for access. it would make your life MUCH easier to go that rout.

thanks for all the kind words everyone, please feel free to lob some suggestions at me.
