The inside has also got its first coat of paint. I was hoping to get more done this afternoon, but it is pouring down rain and I don't have a garage.

Oh, and one more thing. I found this at Home Depot. Hopefully a bunch of coats of this on the particle board stand top will ward off the inevitable saltwater spill.

Thank's. The updates will keep coming until the tank is fully stocked and there is nothing left to talk about.

I love cubes and yours is turning out nice. I think I would have run the return up the middle and build an island in the middle to disguise it.

Maybe a tubular acrylic sleave over the drain to control the water height and then make a durso style drain to control noise.

I was hoping to get the drain in the corner, but the glass cutter needed more room to operate. As it is, the drain is in a pretty good spot for an off-center rock mound. I actually kind of like the exposed drain as long as I can keep it simple. I am a bit worried that a durso would look kind of clunky. I just got a strainer from the LFS that should keep out any critters. I will post some pics once the paint is dry enough for me to get the glass back into the stand.

Vertical pipes slurp. The strainer can help and if you drill a small hole in the top of the strainer for a piece of airline tubing you can feed it down the drain until the noise drops.

Thanks. I will try that once the water is in it.
