For PCs I would go with the 6700K Best light output for the buck

Hmm conflicting opinions. Well I guess I have to decidce between using 6700k/10k, and its yellow tint, possibly accelerating algae growth, or 10k, which looks better, possibly cuts down on algae, and losing the benefit of 420 actinic and using only 460 actinic.

No they're PC bulbs. they don't have straight 10k, 6700k, 460nm..etc. For my fixture you can have

    10k/6700k
    10k/460nm
    460nm/420nm

they bigger fixtures have more choices.. man I wish I woulda went for the 24" fixture, instead of the 20". Crapper!

ha you made the right choice.. I just figured I was ok when I bought the fixture.. was a noob..lol. I didn't research the available bulb combinations. I shoulda got the 24. I'm thinking of buying one, and selling my old one. Or I might get T5's. I actually don't want to spend the money, because I'm getting a bigger tank in a year, but 40$ in bulbs, when I paid $114 for the fixture... I'm thinking of just getting another fixture.

Look at some of the small T5 fixtures on aquatraders.com I just put some of the 36" fixtures up on a tank I take care of and they look pretty good, especially for what they cost it's hard to complain

I'd never use a 67k bulb and while I was in the hospital I read an artificial By Knop that suggest that a 10K or hotter bulb to be used as the cooler bulbs do and have caused algae issues .. I have always said this especially while cycling but now I guess its valid as Knop said so LOL And he validated it with someone else's name :)
