A buddy at work is shutting down one of his tanks because he can't get the algae under control, and hes tried everything. So he's getting rid of his corals etc, and hopefully giving it all to me.;D

He has two mated clowns on a carpet anenomie that lay eggs etc. I have a clown that had a BTA, but after some long battles it gave up. Is 3 clowns to many? I believe we have all True Percula Clownfish.

The answer is dependent on how big your tank is. If they are able to have their own territories, then they MIGHT be fine. Since they are mated, they will be more aggressive to intruders. That territory becomes very important.

I would say don't do it.

Clowns operate in harems. One female, one male, and the rest unsexed juveniles. When one of the top 2 dies, one of the juveniles moves up to become a male (either replacing the dead male or the male replaces the dead female and the top juvenile becomes the male). If you already have a clown, I would put money on it being a female (unless it it still tiny). 2 females in a tank will be all out warfare until one of the females is dead.

+1 on how big your tank is. I have a 150g and I have 7 clowns total: 5 blk/white, 1 true perc, 1 maroon. They all get along fine. I'm in the market for 1 more perc. it also depends on the size of the clowns, if they are all the same size there will be aggression.
