Does my leather look ok? I got it on Monday and it looks like it's peeling or shedding or something. I've read that when they grow they peel but I'm not sure what it's suppose to look like.

And are the zoas too far away from the light? I could move the rock on the top left and put them up there if that'd be better.

The zoanthids are fine where they are and your leather is fine too.

You can put zoos anywhere--as Packleader said once, you can grow zoos in the toilet, with the bathroom light on. That leather looks ok give it some time.

zoas should be fine. You can tell if zoas need light, as they will start strechting upwards and the stalks will become enlongated, if that happens then just move them up!

Im not that great with leathers but it looks okay to me. Hopefully someone else will chime in!

it does look like your leather is sloughing of some skin. could be growing and could be part of acclimation. ive got zoas up high , down low and they are doing fine bot places. just watch and if they dont seem happy, move them.

Leather corals will shed when they grow, when they are too irritated, and when sand or something lays on them. it is there defense to remove whatever is sitting on their skin. I have a huge cabbage leather coral that sheds about once every couple of months. It will shrivel up and change from pink to a light purple, shed, then plump out twice as big as it once was. I wouldn't worry about it. I always blow sand off of mine when it starts to accumulate from my clownfishes throwing it up near it.

All looks well, I wouldn't worry. I had a leather peel some too, like it was shedding it's skin. Nothing bad happened and it continued to flourish. No worries.

Beautiful nano system :D I love the firefish!

I'd offer help on the leather, but I know nothing about them ;)
