28gallon bowfront issue

I have a outer orbit with 150w halide in the middle of the tank right where there is a center brace.I've heard that I could cut the brace and have no problems??? Any suggestions???

I'm confused.....why would a 28 gallon tank need a center brace?

 

I have no idea... Got it as a gift from the inlaws!?!?!?!

 

I'm guessing it's acrylic. Can you attach a picture?

 

It's all glass and I tried to upload a picture and it didn't take.But it is a Euro 28 from petco or petsmart. I've had it filled with water and live for over a month and the brace doesn't seem to be holding any pressure.

 

Based on what you're saying, I would think you would be safe cutting it but I've never seen one in person. Why don't you talk with them. Contact Us

PS....I can guarantee cutting this will void the warranty. Let them know you accept that, and that you just want to know that the tank will hold up.

 

Didn't have any answers just said it's there because it's a bowfront and need to find other options on my own...
