Can't believe it has already been a month, but here is the tank. Plan on adding one more Percula and then going with coral only.

looking good. how do you like the bare bottom? that kenya tree or leather doesnt need that much flow though it will open alot more if moved IMO maybe swith spots with the star polyps.

I like the bare bottom, it makes it look a little different from other tanks. The coral is a Sinularia and I could be wrong but the LFS told me med to high flow for those types. It would be easy to move so if you all think he is wrong I can relocate and see how it reacts. I mainly choose Sinularia because it tends to grow slower then Kenya. I did some research before I placed it and found some information from:

    Green Sinularia

Water Current: Sinularia likes moderate water flow. Seem to do well under wave maker water conditions where the branches get swayed gently back and forth.

    Thanks!

ya i would try moving the angle on your hydor nano abit. i dont know if i would consider that moderate. they also (hydor) make a rotating head for the return. gives the water surface aggitation also. when i had my bc29 i had that temp probe in the first camber, made no diff i found. but great progress how long has it been running? i like the fact that you researced something before buying k+

Good idea on moving the temp probe, I will do that. The tank has been running since 9/18. Great advice on the Nano also, would you position more towards the surface?

    Thanks!

Just the standard lights that come with the Biocube. I have them on 8 hours a day and leave the LED lights on 24 hours. Thanks for the compliment :)

I was very lucky with the LR. I was going into my LFS and another customer was breaking down his 200 gallon reef tank that had been established for 6 years. The owner let me buy 39 lbs and he had literally just put the rock into the tank. Both thought that my cycle time should be almost non-existent due to the LR and so far I have not had any signs of Ammonia, Nitrate or Nitrite.

    Thank you!

I made your suggestions and you were dead on with that coral looking better with less flow K++, I redirected the power head, moved the temp into chamber 3 (where the chiller water dumps into) and added a few corals today (mushroom rock, brain coral and another Percula. Thanks for your suggestions!
