    Hello,

I am in the last stages of purchasing my 300 gallon aquarium and I have a question about glass thickness.

a recent visit to my LFS i was talking about my new tank and i have decided on 2 tanks.
    1. 300 Marineland with plastic corner overflows. 1/2 inch sides and 3/4 inch botom.
    2. 300 Gallon Glass Cages tank Glass Corner overflows. Same Glass thickness.
My LFS was looking into a tank for me and said all hes vendors would highly recomend 3/4 all the way.

The Marinland can only be made in 1/2 inch sides but the glass cages can be made with 3/4 all the way.

Both companys like mose only warantee the tank if it is on one of their stands. The thing i like about glass cages is when i called them and wanted the dementions so i can design a stand around their tank they said they recomend 3/4 inch foam under the tank and offered to provide it with the cost of the tank.

If it helps in your feedback i plan on doing a FOWLR and mabe a reef in the future.

    Thanks Pjracer

I couldn't tell you, but I'd research glass cages. Personally I would trust Marineland over GC any day, regardless of the glass thickness. I've seen a heck of a lot of issues with GC tanks. Some people are happy with them though, but do read up...
