I know this is the wrong place to post but the off topic wouldn't let me for some reason...anyways I was wondering if anyone had downloaded "tapatalk" for the iPhone...it's a forum app and was wondering if it's worth the 3$...

I have the android version of tapatalk, and I like it a lot. It's much better for "foruming" than a mobile web browser.

I actually just dl'ed the tapatalk for my 3GS this past weekend so I could submit photos with ease, since they're all taken from the phone anyway. Worth the money IMO, especially if your part of more than one forum that's tapatalk capable.Faster than safari browser too on both edge and 3G...wifi is almost as fast as my pc but it's old! Lol

Of course it is, it only loads the text of the messages instead of these whole pages. Just look at the amount of resources that are on the standard web version; every single tiny image and every single bit of text and coloring and formatting needs to be loaded every time you move between pages. Tapatalk loads nothing other than the text of the posts, which is why the server actually needs it installed; it needs to access the 3reef database directly to work.

I HATE mobile versions of websites. With 3G service, it doesn't take that long to load full pages, and that's what I want to see. To me, it's like when someone posts about their new tank, fish or coral, and then says, "my camera isn't working, I'll post pictures later". Lame. :p

tapatalk had a pretty massive security issue a few months ago. for this reason I will not download it... i just surf the pages normally and everything loads real quick on 3G so im not worried about it

I have the tapatalk app... it's pretty good, I prefer it over web browsing on the iphone.

I just use safari on my ipod. I bookmarked 3reef so I don't have to do much work. Easy and free.

That security issue is something to think about
