    ok thanks for the welcomes unfortinatle this inst the welcom fourm but good news for all you who think im gonna crash this tank and kill fish this is not the way its gonna happen sorry i went out and bout salt hydromiter test kits and a koralia 3. so my tests are 1.023 on the sanatie and wait for the watter to settle for others

    where did you get your water? I would not use tap water.

    water is from tap are town has great water and alredy tested that all thats in are water is high ph witch is good for salt water

    should only use ro town water usualy has other bad things in it. heavy metals and trace elements of other things.

    i checked with lfs too and they said water was fine. any ways i want some Cristie clear water whats a good filter in the 200 range

    ohh yah i did use pure water conditioner too. =] plz guys do tell me if im doing some thing wrong i need all the help =] thanks guys.

    You can get a great filter at www.buckeyefieldsupply.com.
    Depending on if it's city water or well water, Russ can tell you what you'll need.
    If you have city water, you need a sediment filter, a charcoal block filter, an RO membrane, and the DI unit.
    If you have well water, you may want 2 sediment filters. Then you just need to figure how many gallons per day you need for your purpose. I'd think 50-75 gpd would be more than fine for a 55 tank.

    If you want corals, I would raise your salinity up to about 1.026. Make sure to knock off all of the bubbles on the swing arm or you will get a bad reading. Look into a refractometer if you can, much easier to use and very accurate.
    what type of lighting do you have again? is it just the two 18w bulbs? If so you will most likely not have enough for zoas or any coral for that matter, except for the non-photosynthetic corals

    i kno the lights arnt good enought for the zoas but i want to upgrade my filter first the HOBs arent too good i want a canister any good ones for a good price? umm... yah ive see refractometers for 40 but mine seems acurit i all ways tap it to make sure no bubbles. the heater wont turn off i have to unplug it what should i do ? buy a new one? and for the live rock i want to add more what should i do take sand out move sand or put the rock on sand. pics will be up soon i dont have a camra im using a cell though. soo not good qualtity. One more thing how should i start the cycle idont want to use a fish? is some brine shrimp good? in a fine net?
