hey guys well i have ordered a 36 dimmable led kit from rapid. 18 royal blues 12 cool white and 6 neutral white. It will be going over my 65 g which is also is being built from ground up. i also order (2) 5.886x11" heat sinks from heat sink usa they will be joined together using some 1.5x1.5.1/4 aluminum angle. now here is my question i love the look of the pink from the 420nm i was going to order 12 420nm from ledgroupbuy im just wondering will 48 leds be over kill for my 65? my plans were to run them on a meanwell constant current 700ma driver. oh and my girlfriend is getting me a reef angel controller for christmas as well so i can have sunrise sunset effect

I did the exact same build for my 65g with 18rb, 12cw, 6nw. Lol and I'm also considering adding some pink and uv. I don't think you will have too much light. I'm thinkin about adding 6 or 8 pinks and 6 uv leds on another driver.

Ok ordered 12 of the 420 nm..these say 700ma max. the driver I was looking at puts out 700ma constant current. Will I have any problem with running these leds at full power? Mind you I will likely only run them 6 hours out of the day. Also just received my leds for my ats I ordered 8 osram 660 nm and 2 royal blues. The ats is going to be the only filtration built right into my sump.

    Congrats on the purchase.
I guess 420nm UV is getting more and more attention! The true benefit of the 420 is SPS growth tho, just so you know :)

Anyways, I dont think 700mA drive would damage the LEDs. Make sure they dont run too hot. Keep them lower than 150F.
