Will test the parameters in a few days to see if there is any difference with the 37 gallon addition to the system.

How high should my light be above the water if I am going to have 90 degree optics.

In the manual for my skimmer it says to have the water level in the skimmer 1" above the neck for 3 weeks, does anyone feel this is necessary?

Changed up the light on my display refugium to make it look nicer. The work lights looked like sh$t plus this light is much nicer. It is a solar flare LED. (2 X 10,000K, 2 X 6700 K, 1 X 460NM Blue) I cant wait to get my LED on my display. It makes the water look 100X cleaner.

    Parameters
    Nitrate: 5.0 ppm
    Nitrite: 0 ppm
    Ammonia: 0 ppm
    Phosphate: .25 ppm
    Ph: 8.2
    Salinity: 1.0235, 32
    Temp: 76 F
    Calc: 490 ppm
    Mag: 1120 ppm
    Alk: 12.6 dKH

From what I see I need to raise the salinity and magnesium. I am going to be hosting SPS frags, LPS, and softies. Opinions and advice please

Raise the salinity to where it should be, then recheck parameters. Only dose anything after your tank is "stable" and you have double checked your results, hopefully at your LFS if you have one (at least that is what I would do).

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
I would not venture into sps until Ca/mag/alk are in line as well as the phosphate. Your values are really off, treating the magnesium first would be a good idea. After you get a better mag level then work on the Ca and alk both values do not make sense.

Phosphates are way to high you will have an algae issue in the near future unless you intervene.

Google Randy Holmes-Farley Water Parameters and study it. I use it and review it almost monthly.

Thank you for the link, it seems very helpful. I do not plan on purchasing anything until the parameters are good.

Isnt my alk technically alright for trying to grow SPS frags fast?
