Nice work. Nice job on the canopy. Oh and I was at Home depot and they have welders masks on sale. You might need one with those lights, lol!

Yeah, the lights are outrageous! That's why I had to build the canopy...the pics right now look horrible, but the tank is sweet...will be even sweeter when I get more rock and my 30L sump!

Finally got my 30 long in and siliconed the baffles today...tomorrow I'll fill'er up! Still waiting to get a good pic of the tank with the MH lighting...I only have my phone camera, which is 5MP, but it picks up weird "rays" emitting from the lights. Anyhow, more to come!

PS - I'm going out of town tomorrow morning, and want to fill up the sump before I leave...that will mean the silicone will have had about 18-20hrs to cure...do you think that is enough?

So I got some pics of my new sump in action. Seems to be working well. I reangled the light just for the picture.

Also, as you can see there is a HOB filter (very small, for like a 30g tank) running carbon and a polyfilter. I put it on the fuge side as it tumbles my chaeto.

Do you think this is okay or overkill?

Not at all. Running carbon in a reef tank is never a bad idea. Nice work. That sump/fuge is top notch! Might have been stated, but what skimmer are you running?

Right now I'm running my ASM G-1. I think it's rated for a 100g or 125g. Do you think it's enough, or should I upgrade? My bioload is light right now, but will significantly increase over the coming weeks and months.

You could upgrade. But, I think your fine. Your skimmer will work a little harder. You have a really good skimmer though and that's what it is supposed to do.

I've been looking into the mods for it, but can't find much info...
