Definitely more algae, Nitrites are still off the chart and my Nitrates are dropping again with the growth of the algae. The first algae I got was the dark brown algae, now I'm starting to get yellow algae (diatoms right?) Here is a FTS and a close-up of the rock.

Thanks! I am still having trouble keeping the temp stable. I have been trying to use a timer and setting it for the fan but the temp fluctuations aren't in any particular pattern so I am unable to get the time right. I'm going to bite the bullet and get an Apex Jr. I think overall the money spent will be well worth it. Plus then I can put the stock pump behind the LR for some alternate currents every few min.

EDIT: Apex is on the way!

I am also thinking about getting an apex controller, but from what I hear, the full on Apex is the only way to go??

Why did you choose the LITE and what limitations does it have

The only difference is the amount of outlets and the expansion capabilities. There are a few other features ghat come with the full apex, but for my nano it isnt needed right now. I went with the lite mainly because I don't want to spend $500 right now. I also only need a few programmable outlets at the moment. The other reason is I only really have trouble keeping the temp stable. I modded a computer fan to an old cell phone adapter and that fan keeps the temp as cool as I want it when it's on. I just need a controller because I want the fan to shut off when temp reaches 77° and turn on when it reaches 79°. The extra plugs are just a bonus and allow me some options. If I had my 120 gal. tank running right now I would've gone with the full model. Right now and for this tank it isn't NEEDED for me.

Thanks! It works awesome... If it had a way to detect the temp (hence the controller)

    Equipment Upgrade

It's here, now the temp will be stable! Also included a current tank shot, the algae bloomed once during the cycle and it wasn't too bad. I haven't cleaned the tank in a week, just did a water change yesterday. I am getting some livestock when I get back from my trip over the weekend. I'd like to start with a zoa frag and a small clown.
