I have a 90 gallon aquarium that i will be shortly setting up. Im thinking about switching my 30 gallon biocube stuff to the 90 in about 4 months time. What is the best protein skimmer to get for a 90 gallon aquarium

that opens up a huge can of worms, there are those of us that swear by certain brands but honestly just about any ASM, octopus, ETSS, or PM skimmer will do. I'd say get something rated for 200g though if you want to think about doing SPS corals

for 150 your not going to get a skimmer that can keep up with a 90 gallon, best to save up some, your average skimmer in the size range your looking at is 225-300 for new.

If you're willing to do used I'd check around with some LFS' and see if they have any laying around that still work, they commonly buy used setups just for the livestock and have skimmers and other misc hardware just laying around collecting dust.

Yes for $150 I would not get a PS at all. it would do just the same job.

The problem with going bigger is everything that is required to support the bigger tank is going to cost bigger $$$$.

150 bucks can get you a good skimmer if you keep an eagle eye on your local reef club's classifieds and look for a good used one. I'm kind of in the same boat at the moment with my 90. When I started my 46 bowfront I found a used Remora with pump and prefilter box for $75.

    Keep your eyes open!
