So I'm finally deciding to add some fins into my Nano 28. I have a decent setup with some corals and plenty of rocks and caves. Now I have gone through the "List of fish ideas" and have narrowed it down to the following:

Percula Clownfish - whats the difference between percula and Ocellaris (should I pair)
    Watchman Goby
    Sixline wrasse
Coral Beauty - will they eat the coral
Flame Angel - will they eat the coral
    Blackcap Basslet
    Royal Grama
Pistol Shrimp - worried about the him hurting other inhabitants
    Banggai Cardinals

Now I know some of these won't get along and some are not the safest reef fish, and no I don't want all of them, I think that would overcrowd the Nano 28 right?

So whats your expert advise? which ones, how many, and what order to add them in?

    THANK YOU!

If you get a clown pair they will take over that size tank when they are sexually mature

Tank is too small for a dwarf angel when they are full grown unless they are the only fish in there

Six line wrasse can be very mean

Black cap, royal gramma are nice. A pair of bangai cardinals would be very nice

Goby would be very happy in there

Don't know much about that shrimp

A possum wrasse would look great in there too

Gotcha, so on the clown, would a single one be ok? (fiance's only request lol)
I like the Goby, black cap, gramma, cardinal idea. How many would be ok in a tank that size?

I'll have to look up the possom wrasse, don't know too much about it. As for the six line, you are saying it would be to aggressive towards the other fish in there? Speaking of aggressive, what order should I throw them in?

Typically the black line between the orange and white is wider in the True Percula and very thin in the Ocellaris. Often with the True Percs, the black stripes will merge together as they mature.

If you go with a clown I would get a single perc as they stay a tiny bit smaller at full maturity. The possum wrasse is an absolutely awesome fish, that is a great suggestion for your set up.

You could do a goby, gramma or basslet, single perc and small wrasse or cardinal if you desired.
As for order, I would go in the order I listed, from first in to last.

Sixline Wrasses are notorious for becoming very territorial and bullying, specifically in a small set up. If it was the last fish in, you may be fine, but keep in mind that if you ever want to change fish or replace a loss, that sixline will cause you trouble.

The black cap can be territorial so can the royal. So you should only get one and it should be the last one added.

One clown is fine, they get lonely and need the other fish for friendship. JK. but one doesn't get aggressive. Especially the osc clowns.

Cardinal pair. If its not a pair there will only be one eventually.

I do agree that they can get territorial, but both BC and Royal Gramma's tend to be very shy at first and have a hard time acclimating if there is anything else around them, specifically in a smaller system.

BTW @ OP, you live right by me:p

You're right. They are good examples of passive-aggressive fish

    Gotcha,
So Goby, then either black cap or grama (not both right?), perc, maybe a possom, and a couple cards. Sounds like a plan lol...any other advice? and where abouts are you? I'm in toluca lake area.

    Cryptic sixline wrasse

I have a 29 gallon tank and have a Cryptic Sixline Wrasse. They are interesting fish and are the most peaceful fish i Know. I have had them in tanks with possum wrasses and small gobies. On live aquaria they are called Pink Streaked Wrasse. I have barely had tanks for 2 years and even i can take care of them. Great for nano tanks
