Vertex makes a full fixture that is controllable. It will cost a pretty penny though.

Vertex Illumina SR260 LED Lighting System

Leighton on this forum just got one for his tank, he will know more about it.

why do you want one versus 2-3 fixtures? The Radeons can be synced to run as one, cost less and are in all likelihood superior

yeah, why dead set on the one full length fixture, 3 will allow for more variability/zones in your system. And there are TONS more info on them that this. The blue/white only is scary! I will say, some of there PR for this is getting better. Almost hard to figure out the SPAM guys! They are posting a bit first! Then spamming these and other lights! Easier done on the bigger sites though!

I can't hang the lights they have to go on top of the tank..the 4ft fixture would sit across the tank...they also make 18 inch prism ones with two shades of blue, white ,green, and red lights...but not in the 4 ft

could you just make a custom mounting bracket for them. I've seen a few DIY builds with them.

I appreciate the opinions guys....the features I like about this fixture is the controller with the 5 stage timer with ...morning,dawn,afternoon,dusk and moonlight all controlled and set in the fixture and the fact u can drop the percentage of power on each stage between the white and blue lights...not sure yet but a decision is coming very soon and ah
Gain thanks guys for all your help

Nyraider, these are very standard features. For example, the Radeon allows you to make storms with the fixtures. It also covers a much more full color spectrum then the unit you are using. Who are these "big reef guys"? I don't know a fraction of whats out there, but just by looking at that unit I can tell that you could find something with better LEDs (you want Cree) and more up to date technologies (UV/full or wide spectrum). I am worried you are selecting that unti based on the length and not the quality. Whichever choice you make, I am sure it will work ok. Good luck with it and let us know how it goes!
