So my corals & anemones are going to be going from 96 watts of T5 to 500 watts of MH. Well, 250 at each end of the tank, at least. I don't want to shock them with a sudden upgrade - do you think it would be OK to slowly switch over by running the T5's but with 1 hour MH, then 1.5 the next, then 2, etc, until they're up to the full exposure?

I added 1 hour each day when upgrading from PCs to T5s. I tried with what I thught was a decent number of hours on the T5s and gave my toadstool a blister. I backed it way off and started adding an additional hour of light until I got to 12 hours with all 6 bulbs.

    Thanks!

Anyone go from T5 to MH? I'm assuming slow and gradual is the best way, just don't want to bleach or kill a coral. I have a frogspawn, 2 anemones (one bta, 1 condy), large zoa colony, xenia colony, some mushrooms, and a leather.

pgreef, your avatar cracks me up - I love that movie.

    Bumpity.

Anyone switch from T5 to MH? If so, what was your acclimation period like?

    Thanks :)
