So, I was wondering if anyone could help with an ID of an acro I just got. The guy at the LFS said it's a tabling species, but I forgot to ask the species name while I was there.

I have a higher res version, if it's needed.

The picture makes it look somewhat pinkish in color ?

And it is not a milli ?

It is pinkish/reddish, with a faint green between corallites. It may be a milli - I'm kinda new to SPS TBH.

Well it looks like a very nice piece. Hard to tell from the picture but it looks like it has some polyp extention, so that is why I was thinking millepora, pretty much all sps have some polyp extention but millepora, has very pronounced polyps that are pretty much always out.

Take a look at millepora images, maybe liveaquaria's coral section as well.

I want to say millie as well, but the hi-res would go a long way to helping. Need to get a closer look at the corolites.

    Alright, here's the gigantoid version:

It does have quite a bit of polyp extension. It's only been in the tank for less than 12 hours, but it's almost as full as it was at the store now.

BTW, that green area between the corallites is what I've heard called "tissue". It is just me, or does that seem like a bad/improper name for it?

The description of the underlying green tissue with reddish hues on the corallites makes me want to say Red Planet, seems like a largish frag for Red Planet and they can cost a pretty penny too.

For me a closer image might help with some increase in contrast.

Well, that helped a lot... kinda. It is NOT a millie. If you look at the coralites on a millie, they are completly random. These are all in nice neat rows. This is more along the lines of a Red Planet Acro. Great PE, tabling.... just not sure on specific species.

Edit: and yes, tissue is the correct term.
