Can I just pick up some crushed coral to add to my established tank?

I gues over the past year, I've lost sand during water changes....

(no problem! I wish it were just newbies that did that. ;) )

Many don't use crushed coral anymore as it can trap debris fairly easy and go with actual sand instead. Crushed coral will take a bit more to maintain. I personally prefer 2mm - 4mm sand. A lot of people have strong opinions here, but I feel there are many options as long as you keep up on the husbandry.

    Thanks for joining 3reef! :)

Aragonite is good. Some come 'active' where you don't have to rinse it - like Caribsea. Others do not and you may have to, but they are generally cheaper.
What is in your tank currently?
