Hello, I haven't been on this site in a while, since my last set up didn work out too well. I am restarting the aquarium, however I am strictly sticking to a fish-only aggressive marine set up. Getting to the point: I am composing a list of possible tank inhabitants and I would appreciate any input or opinions on which fish would do best in my set up (a 100 gallon tank with 20 gallon sump and a very good slimmer).
    Cuban hogfish *****
    Bluethroat trigger ***
    Harlequin tusk. ***
Emperor angelfish **** (yes, I know will grow too big)
    Clown triggerfish *
    Yellowtail damsel * *****
    Niger triggerfish ***
    Picasso triggerfish *
    Maroon clownfish ******
    Banana wrasse **
    Bird wrasse **

A harlequin tusk won't do well in an aggressive tank, they are actually very mild mannered, and when bullied, are known to go south really quickly. Triggers, wrasses, and angels are all known to bully them.
Everything else looks good though. Maybe a colorful dwarf angel, like a flame.

You need to get a bigger tank.

Hmm really? I was really looking forward to a harlequin tusk. Yeah flame angelfish are pretty nice, but I don't really have a good luck with angelfish. I don't want any conflict, but I would like to keep some less aggressive fish as well, possibly a blue tang as well.

A agree here, even with the best filtration I would get a larger tank.

Corailline, yes a bigger tank would give me plenty more flexibility, but the list is only of possible fish. I'm not planing on keeping all of them. Thanks for the response though.

blue tang+aggressive fish+only 100g tank= bad idea IMO, not much of that works at all.

Almost all the Triggers need at least a 125. Bird wrasses gets huge as well. I do not see a Yellow tail damsel standing a chance against the larger Triggers.

I think you would get a better response if you listed the number of fish you intend and your favorites out of that list.

Not trying to be snarky, I am not the fish police but the list is too large and not specific enough.

Some of the fish would outgrow it too.

    Ok here's a slightly better list, I just want other people's opinions on the fish that I am considering;
    Yellowtail damselfish
    Maroon clownfish
    Blue tang
    Cuban hogfish
    Harlequin tusk
    Bird wrasse*
    Banana wrasse
    Niger trigger
    Picasso trigger
    Clown trigger
Note: I do have experience with many of the fish (picasso and niger triger as well as a thalassoma wrasse) and they did appear to have plenty of room (5ft in length). I am simply asking on your experiences with these fish. The damselfish will be first ( list is in addition order) and I really doubt there will be a problem with them since they can fend for themselves. The clown trigger is one that I'd really love to have, but I know that they grow Very quickly and can get really aggressive. Thanks for the responses.
