I just got a Starry Blenny who's about 4.5" long and is a total pig.
The problem I have is that I think he tried to take a bite out of my peaceful 4" Green Spotted Puffer, I see 2 white arcs on his back and one arc looks a bit raised while on the other some of the green(skin) is off his back in a bit of a splotch as if it was scraped off . The only fish big enough to do it is the blenny.

Has anyone else had problems with Starry Blennies or Blennies in general?

I'm thinking I may be taking it back for a more peaceful fish and may well catch the damsel to go with it.

my lawnmower picks snails up and rams them against the glass..the sand digging snails, nassarius(sp?)..pretty funny to watch but i guess its a bad thing..other than maybe just a little aggression around its home, but nothing i have ever had to sweat about, no biting other fish or anything...

i have heard a few bad stories about very aggressive blennies

I've seen everything. Nice damsels, coral-safe puffers and angels, etc. While I wouldn't generally consider most blennies aggressive, there are definitely exceptions to the rule. I had a lawnmower blenny that did NOT like snails on the bottom 4 or 5 inches at the bottom of the front glass because that's where he played with my cat. If a snail was there, he would grab ahold of their shell and shake and shake and shake. He would swim them across the tank and spit them out.

Looks like I got an agressive one :-/ sigh....

Funny about the lwanmower and the cat , poor snails though.

Yeah my GSP is nice to my other fish my CUC and coral & is not the least bit aggressive so the meanie blenny is definitely going back and if I can catch the damsel he'll be going too. My clownfish is even nice...so far.

The blenny has also been knocking over corals too....though I finally have them arranged where he can't/won't.

Yes, I had a Starry Algae Blenny that killed two Watchman Gobies. My local fish store offered to let me trade him in. Ultimately, I moved him to another tank.

the flametail blenny's are pretty evil IME. I've had a couple bi-colors and those are usually only slightly aggressive. But I did have one that liked to chomp at LPS so I took it back.
