Anytime an aiptasia is harmed, damaged or squashed, it sends out filaments that mount on rock or glass. These grow into other aiptasia. Try berghia nudies (berghia4aiptasia.com).
Its been 3 or 4 yrs. now since I've used them & aiptasia are starting to invade my tanks again.
I'll even go halfers with you on an order. We should do a group buy. I've dealt with SaltyUnderground for years before I came to this site. They've gotten really expensive. Since they are a sponsor, maybe we could get a good deal? Regardless, I'm gonna get some very soon for my tanks.

OK, just contacted Lisa at SaltyUnderground. She may get back to me today....will forward any info

That and aiptasia x don't quite work as well as the kalk paste does in my experience. For how cheap the kalk paste is, you cannot go wrong with it.

Hi...Can someone post a picture of aptasia so I know what it looks like?

I saw this thing in my tank yesterday it was kind of worm/centipede like. It was an inch long skinny as the led in a pencil and had legs all along each side.

Is this something I need to worry about?
    Thanks!

Yes, they reproduce like little bunnies - harmless really, but an eyesore. Best to deal with them as soon as you see them.

Did you see one of these:

I’d suggest pulling it out – they can get large and actually eat small fish at night (12 inches large btw) and they have been know to eat corals

    aiptasia removal

I read about using lemon juice concentrate too. Apply the same way as the boiling water method Crimson Ghost mentioned. A syringe into the top of the stem or into the hole from where it came from.

*caveat*- I'm not an aquarist as these other fine folks are. I have just been reading, reading, reading.... Still need to buy a tank and get going. 30 inches of snow and no work has put a damper on my activities.

Are you talking about aiptasia? If so, they are harmful to corals. They sting the corals you want, and actually can kill coral.
