OK, today we noticed 2 aiptasia anemones in our tank. The only problem is that they underneath one of the rocks that is on the VERY BOTTOM of my reef structure. There is no way to get to them with the juice unless I completely remove most of my rock :angry::angry:
What do you guys think I should do? Get the rock out of there to get them, and risk all the consequences that comes along with that? Or just control the ones that may spread out from there? They aren't near any corals or anything, so the two that are there arent much of a threat.
I already have 2 peppermint shrimp, so that suggestion wont work. They wont touch aiptasia BTW.
I thought I had them all gone, but here they are again! :-/
    TIA all

how about taking the red tube off a new can of WD40 and putting that on the end of a syringe then getting them that way...you can bend those little tubes pretty far.... or some kind of regular tubing attached...

are you sure they are lysmata wurdemanni. there is a very similar looking species whos name is escaping me that won't eat aiptasia that are sometimes sold under the same name. doubtful, but double check the shrimp.

how about air hose, that should allow you to get almost anywhere.

peppermint shrimp are always a hit or miss...If you want them to work add like 15 at a time. expect 5 to die or fall to predation depending on your other livestock and expect 5-7 to never show interest in aiptasia. So not very good odds of them doing anything as far as aiptasia is concerned. You could go with beghia nudibranches if you are looking for some sort of aiptasia predator in the system on top of your chemical methods.

I tried the WD-40 trick and still couldn't get to them (they are WAY tucked in there), so I will try the air tube when I get home. Not really looking to add any more to the livestock at this time.
