I have these in my tank. I had not problem with because I dont really have much in my tank. however I plan on getting ride of them now. are these aiptasia or majano anemones? I ask cause I would like to get the pepperment shrimp to get rid of them vs chemicals. any thoughts? these pics are with just actinics on, so a little blue. let me know if they arent clear enough. in the first picture there are two different color anemones there. one is almost white while all the rest are brown.

They all look like aiptasia to me. The white one is just a bit bleached.

+1. I am not sure if a peppermint shrimp will take care of those for you. Might be a little big. Also, I have added numerous peppermints to try and take care of some aiptasia and have never had any luck. Personally, I use aiptasia x and have had great success with it.

does everyone else agree that they are to big for shrimp to help with? will I need to use chemicals to get rid of them?

I can't really tell how big they are from your picture.

They do look like aiptasia, mojanos have more bulbous tips and those look more pointed. I have never had any aiptasia no matter the size that peppermints would not eat.

I think chemicals are the way to go. You appear to have a pretty bad problem with these and shrimp may or may not eat them, and even if they do, it's doubtful they will eat all of them. You don't want these hanging around so when you put coral in, they start to sting and kill them.

I have 1 small aiptasia and its at the bottom of my tank so I got a peppermint shrimp to take care of it.
I have had him for a couple of weeks now and he has not touched the thing. So I have joe's juice and im just going to have to find a way to reach to the bottom to get it.
    I recommend just useing chemicals.

I do have a bunch of them, currently nothing near my coral but I understand they need to go. I dont have any shrimp in the tank now. would you try shrimp and see how much they can do, or just go for joe's juice right away?

I agree with the previous posts...probably just easier to use some type of aiptasia chemical control. You only have to squirt a tiny bit into each polyp and it instantly starts dissolving. Also works for majanos too so you would be good to go with what ever you may have....but they look like aiptasia. The only hassle is that you can only kill what you can see. I still get a majano popping up every once and a while b/c I know there are a few hidden that keep spawing:(
