Chemicals, injections, etc. will make you aiptasia problem explode exponentially!! Berghia ONLY eat aiptasia.....nothing else. See my thread (today).

You can sell them or give them to your buddies, otherwise they starve. When Berghia havent eaten in awhile, they turn snow-white. This is usually when you begin to see them when lights are on, although they are noctural hunters.

What I'm doing this time, is I've set up a 5g with large rubble. Any aiptasia I can scrape off glass or pick off sand, I chunk them into the 5g. I throw any unused food from feeding the other tanks into the 5g for the aiptasia. This way, when the berghia wipe out all aiptasia, I still have the 5g that'll be loaded with them buying me some time to find homes for those berghia.

That sounds like a good idea I turned off one of my PH's and 4 aiptasia popped up 3 on the same rock I thought the aiptasiaX killed. Where did you order yours from?

BerghiaDirect.com, Kyle Loper up in Utah. Great guy & packaging is off the hook!! He threw in 4 or 5 extra berghia and 3 or 4 eggstrands. I got like 12 berghia & eggstrands for $100 shipped to my door!! He's currently got a 'bumper crop'.

Been trying to get a group buy here, but mostly, everyone just talks about it then goes back to chemicals. Sooner or later, we'll get it.

Aiptasia release filaments anytime they are harmed or threatened. The filaments turn into more aiptasia. That is why they are so hard to control. Chemicals are good to hold back the population while the berghia mate and reach critical mass in your tank.

Gotta agree with the Kalk paste method. Works great. i musta killed 30 or so, about a 6" square solid patch, a week ago. No sign of them now. Works like a charm.

I find that if you have one of those small plastic chinese food dishes, you can keep a solution on hand that you just have to shake before you inject.

If you can, get your hands on a filling needle, like ont ones that nurses use to mix up the medicnes, not the one that you inject with. The hole is much larger 14g i think...

Yop, just keep an eye on them leighton, especially around your corals. I had a primo colony get taken out by aiptasia stings. Thats when I had to buckle down & do it right.

Yeah, everyone is strapped for money right now but when you consider your investment in your tanks, I tend to try and make berghia a priority. I'll also do AipX until I have the cash for berghia.....works out great.
