Will here is my novice advice, i think your trying to hard to get rid of something that should and will go away on its own, Corailline hit one of them, check your lighting time and the intensity, a clean up crew will do your tank much better and be more healthier than a lot of chemicals, get rid of the chemicals, check your lighting, if you don't have them add your clean up crew and give it time. good skimmer helps also :D

Stop adding Purple Up. While this is not causing your Cyano problem it could cause others. Products like these are just gimmicks and as long as you are keeping up with your water changes and/or dosing the tank to keep your Mag/Cal/ and Alk levels you shouldn't need the PU to grow Corailine.;)

How old is the tank. Can you list your current water perimeters?

All water levels are fine the tank has been running for many years but was turned into reef about 5 months ago but was always a salt water aquarium..I have acan prism led lights running at about 80 percent no need to go higher and the light schedule is 7 -9 am morning light ,9-12 late morning light ,12-5 afternoon ( strongest) 5-8 dusk and from 8 pm- 1 am moonlights...their on for a total of 18 hrs a day 12-5 being the strongest of the 5 stages

Not to flog this one but what are your actual water perimeters. Telling us they are fine gives us zero information to help you.

I would cut back the lights to maybe 12 hours total run time, adjust the others as needed. I think 18hrs is a bit much and could be part of the algae problem. Also, I have a question about your water but not the parameters. How often are you doing water changes, and does the algae problem seem to get worse directly after a water change?

If your not keeping up with the water changes I would try to do smaller (10-15%) changes but at twice or even once a week.

If it seems to get worse after a water change then I would check your water that your using mainly your TDS (total devolved solids). If your making your own water are you making RO/DI water? If you are making RO/DI and TDS is good then you might have Chloromines in your water (if you have city water). A traditional carbon block will not take all the Chloromines out, especially as it gets older. You can find out if you have Chloromines in your water by calling your county and asking them, they should know.

I hope this helps and gives you some direction. Water and lighting are probably the two most important things when running a reef tank.
