I been thinking about making a algae scrubber. From what i been reading they work great, but does the water that comes off the scrubber need to go thur a filter B-4 it go's into DT?Just was thinking about the water might be nasty after running off the algae.
    Thanks

No it does not need to go into a filter as long as you clean it once a week it will be fine.
If you get any oily black/ brown stuff on the screen clean it off. And you will get it while it's new. Depending on your tank nutrients you may get the oil slicks for the first few weeks.

I sent you a PM with a great link to everything you need to know. I would read the whole thread before building.
