Been told to watch the stomach of these guys closely to monitor health. Do you think he looks a little thin or is he alright? Just picked him up a few days ago

I'm not sure if he's thin or not, but his dorsal fin looks really frayed. What type of Goby is that?

Its a Tiger Watchman, the dorsal fin is 2 seperate fins the back one is intact the front one is frayed a little but will heal. Probably from catching in the wild and lfs, I am not real concerned with that since it will heal

Okay. It just kinda looked like it was missing that entire section. Has he been eating alright?

I would be more concerned about it eating, especially since they can easily starve if they don't take prepared food.

That is my main concern, being only a few days old I wanted some input from you guys to help be assess what my starting point is.
Does he look healthy and well fed where I have time or is he on the thin side where I need to get him eating fast?

According to LiveAquaria, he will eat a variety of live and frozen brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, live black worms, and prepared foods for carnivores. Have you tried feeding him anything besides pellets?

you can try sticking mysis or some other meaty food in the sand near his home. unfortunately, if you have nassarius snails, they will probably beat him to it.
