Anyone have one? Do you have a preference? I'm looking at the single parameter models from Milwaukeekie and Hanna.

Just wondering, why would you need one?

You can't be testing for ammonia THAT often, can you?

I'm going to be dealing with a lot of uncycled tanks and I can't distinguish between the different colors of an ammonia kit.

I didn't know the answer so I contacted Boomer. Here's his response.

If you are referring to the Hanna Checker for Ammonia, they are designed to work in fresh water only. Also they are not yet available, and will be delivered probably in the next two months. The Hanna Checkers are all easy to use and provide fairly accurate results.

I'm pretty sure she was talking about the older square one and not one of the new egg-shaped ones. The old models also work in seawater. However, just in case I'm wrong, I'm real glad you brought this up.

Both of those work in seawater.

I've used one that was shaped similar but there have been changes. Make sure you rinse with RO/DI water after each use. If the glass vials have dried deposits, your results won't be as accurate.
