    Hello all,

I recently added shrimp to my 90g tank. Was wondering when a good timetable was when ammonia levels drop.

Do you have live rock in the tank? I assume this is a new tank cycling?

The time it takes a tank to cycle can be a bit of a guessing game. Brand new fresh out he box tanks can go 6-8 weeks. Adding live rock cause reduce that time, depending on the little of alot amount of rock used. The amount of die off coming from the live rock will change factors. Using water change water from someone elses tank can lower that time. There are alot of variables that can make the length of a cycle go both ways. Important thing to rememebr though is to not rush a cycle, or ass livestock out of impatience. Go slow, let it grow and youll be better off in the end. Yes saying that does sound like some sort of cheesy line, but it really is quite true.
