    What is the amount of fish you can have for a 50 gallon reef tank? Is the general rule 2'' of fish per gallon?

    Hey Papa

    in Tropical freshwater it was 1 inch of fish per gallon

    in a typical saltwater tank it is 1 inch of fish per 4 gallons
    so in a 50 gallon tank you would be looking at 12 inches of fish not including the tail

    and you should allow for maximum potential size rather than the size you buy them at
