Anyone here ever had one of these hermits? I saw them in my lfs and they look pretty cool. do they need high output lighting? how do you have to care for them?

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Are you referring to Pom Pom crabs?

Edit: Oh I know what you are talking about now. Hermits with the anemone on the shell. The anemones are usually not anemones that require high light intensity. The hermits grabs them off the mother colony and places them on the shell. The anemone gets some nutrition from the hermit forging for food and the anemone provides protection for the hermit. The issue happens when the hermit leaves for a larger shell and leaves his anemone behind.

supposedly when they outgrow their shell and get a new one, they actually take the anemone with them. Has anyone actually seen this happen?

I actually gathered some of these from the ocean on vacation when i was 16. I brought them back to my tank, and put them in. they were fine in my tank, and some of anemones actually found homes off of the shells and onto my live rock. they never multiplied and really never got bigger. But they did live in the tank til I broke it down. about 5 years or so...
